This shot was arranged through a good friend of mine John Ryan Flaherty. I have always wanted to do a shoot based on the renaissance period, so yesterday was a perfect time for me to get the job done. I chose to use my favorite technique of “painting with light”. Basically, meaning taking multiple shots with a single light, then making a composite of all the images. (to view individual elements, go to http://paulbyun.blogspot.com/2009/10/renaissance-shoot-100509.html)
I didn’t want to make a series out of this theme because I wanted it to be as experimental as possible. Usually, when I work on a series, there is always a task of having to memorize every single step in both pre and post production. So it could get very stressful sometimes trying to match up the look of different shots. Paul Byun
